SPI/FilmBox International secures deals in Hungary

Filmbox logosChannel provider SPI/FilmBox International has secured carriage for its FilmBox Premium Pak package with Hungarian operator Antenna Hungária’s MinDig TV digital-terrestrial platform and for its FilmBox Live subscription video-on-demand service with Telenor’s My TV hybrid OTT service.

The deals follow the rebranding of FilmBox Extra as FilmBox Premium in the country.

FilmBox International executive director Berk Uziyel said the company was also in talks with Digi for carriage of the pack on the latter’s Hungarian pay TV platform, although it was too early to disclose details of the ongoing negotiations.

The FilmBox Premium Pak includes the rebranded FilmBox Premium and the FilmBox Family channels. SPI launched the FilmBox Basic channel on Antenna Hungária’s platform in October.

The FilmBox Live SVoD service is now available to all Telenor My TV subscribers. The Hungarian platform has carried the FilmBox linear channels for the last year.

“We are very excited to make FilmBox Live service available to Telenor customers,” said Tamas Fulop, SPI country manager in Hungary.

“Our objective is to launch FilmBox Live with all major operators in 2015. We are also going out of our way to provide all of our FilmBox Premium Pak subscribers with access to the FilmBox Live content as part of their linear subscription via DTH platforms and traditional cable networks.”
