Eight Viasat channels will initially be made available as part of Megogo.net’s basic package. The channels will be provided on a pay basis from next year.
Viasat’s presence on the platform will include movie channel brand TV1000, with channels TV1000, TV1000 Russian Kino, TV1000 Action and TV1000 Comedy all made available, bringing movies including Jobs, 12 Years a Slave and Blue Jasmine to Megogo.net users.
Other channels on the platform will include the Ukrainian version of Viasat History, Viasat Explore, Viasat Nature and Viasat Sport.

“Our strategic goal is to become the number one interactive TV service in eastern Europe. We have already gained the position of the biggest online cinema for Russian-speaking audiences around the world. Now it’s time for the TV service,” said Ivan Shestakov, marketing manager at Megogo.
