Viasat Broadcasting channels launch on Megogo.net

mtg new logo_400x400arUkrainian OTT TV provider Megogo.net is to make all of Modern Times Group (MTG)-owned Viasat Broadcasting’s Ukrainian linear channels available on its platform. 

Eight Viasat channels will initially be made available as part of Megogo.net’s basic package. The channels will be provided on a pay basis from next year.

Viasat’s presence on the platform will include movie channel brand TV1000, with channels TV1000, TV1000 Russian Kino, TV1000 Action and TV1000 Comedy all made available, bringing movies including Jobs, 12 Years a Slave and Blue Jasmine to Megogo.net users.

Other channels on the platform will include the Ukrainian version of Viasat History, Viasat Explore, Viasat Nature and Viasat Sport.

“There has been a clear growth in OTT pay TV distribution in Ukraine. Megogo are innovators and igniters in terms of the user experience and marketing approach. We believe that there is a considerable potential for pay TV channels in interactive TV, which gives us not only new business opportunities, but also ideas of delivering the best entertainment experience to the customer. “Our strategic goal is to become the number one interactive TV service in eastern Europe. We have already gained the position of the biggest online cinema for Russian-speaking audiences around the world. Now it’s time for the TV service,” said Ivan Shestakov, marketing manager at Megogo.
