French video site Dailymotion has selected Unified Streaming, a cross-platform streaming technologies firm, to power its new live broadcasting platform.
Due to a “significant increase in demand” for live streaming, Dailymotion opted to design a more scalable and reliable live platform, said United Streaming.
While the platform was mostly developed in-house, Dailymotion opted to partner with Unified Streaming, partly because it claims it can handle hundreds of simultaneous ingest streams under various conditions.
“Scalability, reliability and robustness are the key when it comes to Live streaming. Unified Streaming software met all these requirements and that’s why we chose Unified Streaming solution to be part of our Live Platform,” said Vincent Colombet, live project manager at Dailymotion.
Dailymotion provides a range of live-streamed content, including gaming tournaments, 24 hours news and cultural events.
