Ukrainian cable operator Volia has completed the latest phase in the modernization of its backbone data network. The upgrade will enable Volia to deliver digital TV and high-speed broadband services to 13 cities – Vinnitsa, Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhye, Krivoy Rog, Lviv, Poltava, Rivne, Sumy, Ternopil, Kharkiv, Kherson, Khmelnytsky and Cherkasy.
Volia chief technology officer Aleksander Hnidyuk said the upgrade had doubled the capacity of the operator’s network and facilitated the fully redundant delivery of services from the company’s central headend in Kyiv.
