Kids viewing drives Viaplay growth

Viewing of kids content on Modern Times Group’s (MTG) Viaplay streaming service grew five-fold in the last year, according to the company. The period saw the Nordic free and pay TV provider strike exclusive agreements with Nickelodeon and Disney Movies on Demand. 

While viewing of kids content increased b y 513%, viewership of the platform as a whole grew by 41% on the back of investment in technology and content, said the operator.

“As a parent, I know how much impact children have on the service you have at home, so I’m glad Viaplay now has the strongest choice even for children, and that it is visible in user numbers,” said Rikard Steiber, CEO of Viaplay and chief digital officer, MTG.
