Net fibre additions in the quarter stood at 208,000 in the quarter, against 160,000 in the second quarter.
Globally, Telefónica added 458,000 new TV customers in the quarter, up 41% year-on-year, and 265,000 new fibre customers. Partly as a result, it said, data traffic on fixed networks increased year-on-year more than 35%, and over 50% on mobile networks.
Pay TV customers totalled 4.6 million across all markets at the end of September, up 35.1% year-on-year. This included 1.6 million Movistar TV customers in Spain, some 2.6 times the figure for September 2013 thanks, it said, the the success of its new convergent offer.
