Kabel Deutschland added 53,000 Premium TV customers in the three months ending September 30, with TV business revenue climbing 1.2% to €294 million.

Announcing its fiscal second quarter results, Kabel Deutschland reported a total of 2.425 million pay TV and DVR service subscribers.

This included 1.90 million activated smartcards for the firm’s HD Private offering, compared to 1.49 million in the same quarter a year earlier.

“As a result of a better subscriber mix and growing Premium TV penetration, the total blended TV ARPU per subscriber improved to €11.05 in the second quarter,” said Kabel Deutschland.

Overall, the firm reported Q2 revenue of €500 million, up 6.0% year-on-year, while adjusted EBITDA increased by 4.9% year-on-year to €244 million. The Company posted a net profit of €67 million, compared to a net loss of €129 million for the same quarter last year.
