UK free-to-air satellite platform Freesat has launched a new advertising campaign to promote its Freetime connected TV service.
The ad campaign will kick off on commercial channel ITV and digital platforms on October 20 and will run throughout November and December. The campaign features a snail called Sheldon who regularly misses favourite programmes because he never makes it to the TV on time, but could use the Freetime smart TV guide to watch shows when he wants, with the tagline: ‘Freetime. TV in your own time’.
The advert is the first to be created by a hub of in-house and external resources including Tellyjuice, a creative video agency, Freesat’s own creative marketing team and special effects agency Framestore,
According to Freesat, Freetime now accounts for 48% of all Freesat set-top box sales, having tripled year-on-year. In additon to Freetime set-top boxes supplied by Humax, the service is also available on the latest range of Panasonic smart TVs.
