A+E Networks lines up Polish and Nordic channel launches

H2 logoA+E Networks is set to launch its H2 and Lifetime networks in Poland for the first time, and also is launching H2 in the Nordics.

A+E Networks said that H2, an extension of its History channel brand, will go live in Poland on October 29, with the female-skewing Lifetime channel to follow in November.

The launches will expand A+E Networks’ channel offering to four in Poland, with History and Crime + Investigation already available in the country.

“These two launches mark a very important milestone for A+E Networks in Poland as they showcase the diversity and strength of our portfolio. We expect these new channels to deliver the strong results seen from a range of other international launches in 2014,” said Izabella Wiley, general manager at A+E Networks Poland.

Details of which pay TV operators will offer H2 and Lifetime are still being finalised.

At the same time, A+E Networks launching the H2 channel for the first time across the Nordic region after signing a deal with Canal Digital.

Through the deal, the channel will be available in more than 700,000 homes in the Nordics and will sit alongside History, which launched in the region in 2007.

H2 is the perfect complement to History, offering viewers a chance to delve even further into the riches of world history, famous figures and historical events,” said Christian Hoeyer, Nordic sales distribution director at A+E Networks UK.
