Spanish public broadcaster RTVE has appointed Atlanta-based Castalia Communications Corp. to become its channels and programming distributor in North America.
Under terms of the deal, Castalia will offer operators access to channels such as general purpose net TVE Internactional and news net 24 Horas. The agreement covers the US, Canada and Puerto Rico.
“With a solid reputation for launching channels and programming worldwide, and a stronghold in North America, Castalia Communications is ideally positioned to strengthen the reach of our brands,” said TVE marketing director Marta Abad. “We look forward to serving new audiences in the US and Canada as the premier destination for Spanish news and entertainment.”
TVE offers series such as Cuéntame Cómo Pasó, Isabel and Águila Roja, plus miniseries and made-for-TV movies.
