Eutelsat has chosen Farncombe to support the development of its push video-on-demand service based on the HbbTV 2.0 standard.
Farncombe was selected for the overall project management, software development and integration services.
Farncombe has been involved in developing the HbbTV specification for a number of years. Push VoD functionalities have now been added to the latest version of the HbbTV standard which will be published later this year and is expected to be standardised by ETSI (the European Telecommunications Standards Institute) in early 2015.
“We chose to partner with Farncombe because of their previous track record working with us as well as their experience with HbbTV and their system architecture capabilities,” said Nicolas Moulin Fournier, head of connected TV Programme, Eutelsat.
“The team at Farncombe has proven yet again that they have the project management skills and technical expertise to ensure the delivery of even the most complex projects.”
Eutelsat will be exhibiting at IBC on stand 1.D59
