Brazilian media group Globo will broadcast its international channel over the web in Europe, after partnering with over-the-top (OTT) carriers Cloudio TV and GLWiZ.
Cloudio TV provides OTT infrastructure and offers premium content on multiple devices, including set-top boxes, Roku devices and Samsung, Panasonic, Toshiba, and LG connected-TVs.
GLWiZ offers a portfolio of channels, now including Portuguese content, with Globo fans able to subscribe to the carrier and watch Brazilian shows streamed via a dedicated set-top box.
Globo first launched its international channel in 1999, broadcasting via satellite to Brazilian and Portuguese-speaking audiences living abroad. It now claims more than 2.2 million subscribers worldwide.
