Metrological to introduce new UX and app store technology

Metrological will introduce three products for managing and monetising user experiences, along with a new TV app store feature, at IBC this year.

The Netherlands-based firm, which provides a cloud-based app framework and TV app store, will add a real time insights dashboard to its portfolio, offering business intelligence to operators.

It is also introducing a centrally managed, cloud-based UX platform that centrally delivers UIs across all devices and can be dynamically updated.

A new instant pairing and interaction feature lets users link TV viewing to their mobile devices by scanning a unique QR code. This authenticates users to apps, allows viewers to connect through social media and lets them use features such as interactive voting, real time buying or even use a mobile phone as a TV remote control.

Finally, the new app manager feature is designed to let operators manage the apps that are available in their App Store store in real time.

“These new products and features provide new ways to raise ARPU and reduce churn, whilst reducing operational costs. In this way Metrological helps to drive revenue and boost subscriber loyalty in a more efficient and effective way,” said Metrological CEO Jeroen Ghijsen.
