Teleste signs €20 million access network deal with Altice Group

AlticeVideo and broadband technologies firm Teleste Corporation has signed a five-year deal with multinational cable and telco firm Altice Group to provide access network equipment.

The agreement, which has an estimated value of €20 million, will enable Altice to deliver new broadband services according to DOCSIS 3.1 standard, which supports multigigabit broadband speeds.

Teleste claims the deal marks the first “mass-scale deployment of DOCSIS 3.1 capable access network in Europe”, with the agreement marking an extension of previous frame agreements with Altice Group.

The Altice Group provides TV, broadband, fixed line telephony and, in some countries, mobile telephony services. The company has a presence in countries such as France, Israel, Belgium and Luxembourg, Portugal and the Caribbean Islands.
