Kudelski raises revenue and profit outlook

nagra-group-overview_0TV technology provider Kudelski has raised its full year revenue and profit guidance following the consolidation of its Conax acquisition and its patent cross-licence agreement with Cisco.

Kudelski reported first half revenues of CHF395.3 million (€326.4 million), up 6.1%, with revenues at constant currency up 9.5%. Operating income was CHF27.7 million, up 79.9%.

Kudelski now says it will achieve revenue of CHF895-915 million for the full year, up from previous guidance of CHF865-880 million, and operating income of CHF60-70 million, up from CHF55-65 million.

The April acquisition of Conax contributed to Kudelski’s top-line growth and profitability, while the group also started to realise cost savings through better sourcing arrangements for smartcards and use of its own SmarDTV CAM solutions to support Conax’s business.

Nagra’s OpenTV5 middleware secured a new contract with Singapore’s Starhub in April, while France’s Numericable is using Nagra Media PRM conditional access and Nagra Media Player SDK forits new multiscreen services.

Other first half contract wins include Spain’s Euskaltel, which is using Nagra MediaLive to power its Edonon multiscreen service, and Tanzania’s AzamTV, which is planning to expand its payTV service to other territories, staring in Uganda and Kenya in September.
