MTV extends reach in South Africa

Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) Africa plans to move MTV in South Africa to pay TV operator MultiChoice’s DStv Extra and Compact packages on August 25. The channel is currently available as part of the higher tier DStv Premium package.

MTV will join sister channel MTV Base in the Extra and Compact packages, giving the channel a significantly increased reach and broadening its appeal to advertisers, according to Viacom.
