Later this month, Amazon Prime subscribers will be offered five pilots: half-hour comedies The Cosmopolitans, Really and Red Oaks, and long-long dramas Hand of God and Hysteria.
Launching scripted drama and comedy pilots on the same day and following their feedback allows Amazon programming executives to decide which they take to series.
Amazon’s second pilot season earlier this year lead to the commission of six shows to series. These were dramas Transparent, Mozart in the Jungle, Bosch and The After, and kids series Gortimer Gibbon’s Life on Normal Street and Wishenpoof!.
