AirTies launches portable OTT box

Set-top box and wireless networking specialits AirTies has launched a miniature portable wireless set-top box that it will showcase at the forthcoming IBC show in September.

The portable box, the Air 7405, which measures 10 x 10cm, can be attached wireless to an IP gateway and moved from room to room. It features an RF remote control and home automation capabilities to enable remote programming and is portable enough to take on holiday or to a neighbour’s house, according to AirTies.

The box, which is now available for trial, is based on the Broadcom 7250 System-on-a-chip (SOC) chipset with 5K DMIPS CPU, an HEVC decoder, and USB 3.0. the devices comes with built-in 2×2 802.11ac wireless connectivity, operating at 2.4 or 5GHz frequencies, together with AirTies Mesh Technology, enabling self-installation and extending its coverage, according to AirTies.
