Google’s Chromecast internet TV dongle has delivered 400 million ‘casts’ from the web, mobile devices, laptops and desktops to the TV screen since it launched exactly one year ago, according to the company.
Google said it is planning further updates to the device including the ability to allow others to cast to users’ TVs without needing to be on the same WiFi network, and a customisable homescreen.
To celebrate the anniversary and milestone, Google is offering All Access subscriptions, making users’ music available on all devices, free for 90 days to US users. The offer will be available to September 24.
