Vodafone-owned German cable operator Kabel Deutschland grew its revenue by 5.8% to €491.1 million and boosted internet revenue-generating units by 83,000 in its fiscal first quarter to June 30, taking its internet subscriber total to 2.3 million.
The group’s growth helped offset a decline in Vodafone Deutschland’s DSL business, contributing to an overall revenue growth in Vodafone’s fixed line business in Germany of 0.9%. Vodafone and Kabel Deutschland are now jointly selling their services under the Home Plus brand.
Vodafone arrested the decline in the DSL business by about half compared with the same period last year, boosted by growth in VDSL subscriptions.
Kabel Deutschland will report first quarter numbers in full on August 7.
