Vodafone to share fibre with Portugal Telecom

Vodafone Portugal has struck an agreement with Portugal Telecom to share fibre networks connecting about 900,000 homes in the country. 

Each of the partners will provide connectivity to about half of the total number of homes, enabling the pair to reduce the cost of building fibre out across the country.

Both Vodafone and Portugal Telecom’s Meo unit will retain control of their retail services, including broadcast TV services.
