Innowave licenses RDK software

Portuguese TV technology provider Innowave has licensed the RDK software stack to bring its TV products to operators seeking to deploy RDK-based services.

RDK – a pre-integrated software bundle that has as its stated aim to provide a common framework for enabling set-top boxes and other devices for TV service providers – is supported by over 150 licensees to date. RDK is administered by RDK Management, a joint venture between US cable operators Comcast and Time Warner and US-based international cable operator Liberty Global.

“InnoWave and the RDK community share the same philosophy. Joining the RDK was a natural step for us,” said Pedro Pinto, chief technology officer of InnoWave Technologies. “InnoWave is a reference in the creation and development of interactive TV solutions. We are already focused on creating solutions that will fit the global RDK opportunity.”
