The Android launcheds follows the launch of iOS apps for Horizon and makes over 90 TV channels, video-on-demand services and an EPG available to Android phone users. Most content can currently only be viewed within the home of the subscriber for licensing reasons, but 13 channels are available for on-the-go viewing over WiFi, 3G or 4G networks.
Phone users will also be able to use their device as a remote control for the main Horizon box. A ‘push to TV’ function will be added shortly.
The app is available for users with devices operating Android version 4.0 or above and can be downloaded from the Google Play store.
