Ofcom awards three more local TV licences

That's TVUK media and communications regulator Ofcom has awarded three new local digital-terrestrial TV licences.

Licences have been awarded to Portsmouth-based That’s TV Network to operate channels in Guildford, Reading and Salisbury.

The three channels – That’s Surrey, That’s reading and That’s Salisbury – will be available on DTT via the local TV multiplex. the channels will also be available on Virgin Media, YouView and on the web.

Ofcom estimates that the local TV licences could reach approximately 170,000 homes in Reading, 54,000 homes in Guildford, and 30,000 homes in Salisbury. The exact coverage at these locations will be confirmed with the local multiplex licensee.

The awards take to 28 the number of local TV licences awarded to date.
