TV applications specialist Accedo has joined the Tizen Association Partner Programme.
Tizen, an open-source platform that emerged from the Linux Foundation, is designed to provide a way for app developers to reach the new generation of browser-enabled devices. Tizen provides a number of profiles of its open-source operating system to serve different categories of devices – mobile, TV and wearable.
“We are excited about joining the Tizen Partner Program and being part of Tizen’s evolution,” commented Michael Lantz, CEO, Accedo.
“Tizen’s focus on openness, standardisation and developer outreach are key ingredients for a successful operating system. What’s really interesting is how Tizen is being used to power a wide range of devices from smartphones and smart TVs to wearables and connected cars. It’s clear that the continued growth of connected devices will enable new and exciting use cases for media consumption. It is Accedo’s intention to be in the forefront of innovation and we believe Tizen is an important factor in our growth.”
