Google has launched a new app Google Play Movies & TV Chrome app, that will let Chromebook users watch movies and TV shows when they are offline.
The Chrome OS offline mode comes alongside an improved local playback experience for anyone watching movies through the Chrome browser and better performance for Google’s Chromecast HDMI streaming device, the search giant said.
Google has also added ‘info cards’ about Play TV and movie content to the service.
The news comes as US web TV service Aereo announced it has now rolled out to Chromecast devices in the States, having made its service ‘Google Cast Ready’.
