ATX launches licence-free transcoding platform

ATX Networks has launched what it says is a licence-free transcoding platform.

According to ATX, the VersAtivePro platform can remove the need to deal with complex licensing requirements. It says that the platform removes the problems associated with switching HD channels to SD or vice versa, or migrating from primary to redundant units are completely eliminated.

According to the company, the devices are cluster manageable with a single UI for managing multiple units.

ATX Networks designs, manufactures, markets and delivers a broad range of products to the cable TV operators worldwide. ATX Networks offers a broad range of digital video products including transcoding, multichannel encoding, EPG/live/stored content streaming, bulk content transition (RF and IP gateways), RF and optical transmission, RF filters, transmitters/receivers, headend and MDU amplifiers, node segmentation, node/amp upgrades, monitor/control equipment, pads/EQs, drop amps, digital voice switches, and connectors.
