Teleste network services celebrates fifth birthday

Teleste’s network services division is celebrating its fifth birthday at this year’s ANGA COM.

According to the Finland-based group, Teleste Network Services has established itself as a leading network services provider in Germany and a trusted partner for many major European cable and FTTx operators. Last year the unit designed over two million km of core fibre and HFC networks, removed several million euros of legacy equipment, carried out 1,300 network re-segmentations and upgraded several thousand street cabinets, according to the company. In addition, over 400,000 field installation and maintenance tickets were completed.

Telest has also built a network operations centre for the unit in Finland providing services for capacity management, remote maintenance and monitoring as well as preventing problems. The unit currently manages networks for over 300,000 subscribers.

As well as highlighting the work of the network services unit in Cologne, Teleste will use the show to launch its CATVisor Commander Android app for wireless local management of its nodes and amplifiers.

The CATVisor Commander Android application provides wireless management of equipment. The Teleste ACE8, an intelligent node for DOCSIS 3.1 environments, is the first product to be managed by the app, with support to be gradually extended to the rest of the Teleste intelligent networks portfolio.

A beta version of the app, which can be connected to equipment via Bluetooth, will be available for trial at ANGA COM.

Teleste will exhibit at ANGA COM in Hall 10.2, stand E19.
