Orange slows French revenue decline, sees TV growth

Orange saw its revenue decline slow in both fixed and mobile segments in its home market of France in the first quarter, to 4.9% against a decline of 6.2% in the last quarter of 2014. 

Orange had 6.644 million TV subscribers at the end of the first quarter, up from 6.514 million at the end of last year.

In France, IPTV and satellite TV customers together numbered 5.709 million, up from 5.619 million quarter-on-quarter.

In Poland, Orange had 708,000 IPTV and satellite TV customers, up only 1,000 on the previous quarter, while IPTV customers in Spain numbered 86,000, up from 76,000 quarter-on-quarter.

Overall, Orange posted revenues of €9.8 billion for the quarter, up 3.8% year-on-year on a comparable basis. EBITDA was stable at €3 billion.
