Sony gears up for summer 4K launches

Sony has announced the pricing and availability of its new Bravia 4K Ultra HD TV line-up, media player, and expanded its Video Unlimited 4K content library to 200 titles.

Sony said that all nine models of its 4K Ultra HD line, which were first launched at CES, are now available to pre-order and will be in market in June – priced from US$2,099 for the 49 inch class XBR-X850B series to US$24,999 for the high-end 85 inch XBR-X950B series model.

“We strongly believe 4K is the future for entertainment and we remain committed to leading the 4K movement, from lens to living room, in a way that only a company like Sony can,” said Mike Fasulo, president at Sony Electronics.

Sony said that its Video Unlimited 4K service now offers more than 200 titles, including new release films from Sony Pictures like American Hustle and The Monuments Men.
