Polish pay TV operator Cyfrowy Polsat is to launch a series of mobile phones with DVB-T tuners built in as part of its rollout of LTE services.
The operator said it planned to the be the first in the Polish market to offer smartphones with integrated DVB-T tuners that will allow users to watch broadcast digital-terrestrial TG on the go. The move will enable the operator to market access to free-to-air channels to supplement an offering of 12 mobile pay channels.
Cyfrowy Polsat has teamed up with mobile operator Plus to demonstrate their ability to deliver 225Mbps mobile broadband using the 800MHz spectrum.
