Content security specialist Verimatrix is launching a new multi-network revenue security solution, designed to address the move towards hybrid and all-IP networks.
VCAS for Broadcast-Hybrid aims to enhance Verimatrix’s existing Video Content Authority System (VCAS) security solutions, drawing on the strengths of VCAS for IPTV and VCAS for Internet TV.
Verimatrix said the new VCAS for Broadcast-Hybrid is designed to better enable combinations of radio frequency and multicast linear delivery with advanced adaptive bitrate service offerings. It uses enhanced HTTP Live Streaming security for catch-up/on-demand and unicast linear services to set-top boxes, mobile devices and smart TVs.
“As we move towards the next generation of video services, we believe that pay TV operators have an opportunity to gain an advantage that propels them beyond the current limitations of their physical resources and enables them to better respond to changing market dynamics,” said Tom Munro, CEO, Verimatrix.
The firm is due to showcase VCAS for Broadcast-Hybrid at the TV Connect conference in London next week.
