Amazon Prime Instant Video has launched original comedy series Betas in the UK.
The show about wannabe entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley was one of Amazon Studios first wave of original shows alongside Alpha House and a raft of kids content.
Unlike Netflix, Amazon Prime Instant Video has not launched its original series simultaneously around the world.
Betas launched on Instant Video in the US last November. In the US Amazon has also chosen not to launch all episodes of an original series simultaneously, however, all eleven instalments of Betas will be made available at the same time in the UK.
“Betas was an incredibly popular pilot when it was released in the UK last April and the show has already gone on to be a huge hit in the US,” said Helen Cowley, head of programming at Amazon Instant Video, UK. “The humour is very similar to The Inbetweeners and Big Bang Theory… but at the same time in a class of its own.”
