OTT service WhereverTV heads for European smart TV

US-based over-the-top subscription TV service WhereverTV has signed up with German white label smart TV portal provider NetRange to make its service available in Europe and other international markets. 

The agreement calls for the distribution of WhereverTV’s linear TV channels and subscription packages across all NetRange consumer electronics partners’ devices, giving WhereverTV access to NetRange customers throughout western Europe, South America, and Asia.

WhereverTV’s app is expected to become available on NetRange’s platform by the end of the second quarter.

The initial WhereverTV app will support new ArabicTV, GreekTV, and GlobalTV subscription packages.

NetRange consumer electronics and platform service partners include IKEA, Sharp, Loewe, Vestel and SES’s HD+.

“The idea of WhereverTV was born while I was an American expat living in Shanghai” said WhereverTV’s CEO, Mark Cavicchia.

“WhereverTV’s patented Global Interactive Program Guide allows consumers to easily take their subscriptions with them via portable devices, such as smartphones and tablets and quickly connect to televisions through relationships like the one we just established with NetRange.”
