Olivier Schrameck, the president of French audiovisual media regulator the CSA, has been elected as first president of the European Regulator Group for Audiovisual Media Services, the Europe-wide regulators group recently set up by the European Commission to advise it on how to implement its Audiovisual Media Services Directive.
The new group will enable European regulators to meet regularly to exchange information and share experiences. The grouping originated in a meeting organised on the initiative of Schrameck in Paris last September, when several national regulators disucassed closer cooperation at European level.
The chiefs of the Dutch and Polish audiovisual media regulators were chosen as vice-presidents.
