Eurosport and France Télévisions have agreed domestic broadcast rights with the French Tennis Federation (FFT) to air the French Open until 2018.
France Télévisions will remain the French broadcaster for the next five editions of the tennis tournament, though Eurosport, through the new deal, has also taken sub-licensed rights in the country.
Eurosport has already secured broadcast rights to the French Open in the rest of Europe until 2021, while France Télévisions has aired it in France since 1987.
“This new agreement will enable us to offer our subscribers extensive coverage of the tournament, both on our channels (Eurosport and Eurosport 2) and on our various digital offerings, whether on the internet, mobile, tablet or connected TV,” said Eurosport CEO Jean-Thierry Augustin.
