Eurochannel makes African push

TV network Eurochannel has expanded into Africa, as part of a wider expansion effort that has also seen it increase its European footprint over recent months.

The channel, which specialises in European movies, music, and television series, signed a deal with African operator Montage TV in Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone and Liberia.

Eurochannel has also signed an agreement with UndatedTV to increase its coverage in Nigeria.

“Africa is now becoming an important market for Eurochannel, and we are proud to promote European production there,” said Gustavo Vainstein, CEO of Eurochannel.

“These last months have been a time of great achievements for Eurochannel, with many new additions in Europe,” he said, adding that Eurochannel will soon be available “in more European countries.”

In recent months, Eurochannel has launched in Iceland, Estonia, Albania, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Poland. In December, Eurochannel also signed a deal with French cable operator Numericable.
