Sony beats PS4 sales target

Sony said it sold more than 5.3 million PlayStation 4 devices as of February 8, beating its 5 million end-of-March sales target ahead of the console’s Japanese launch. 

Sony released its latest generation PlayStation console in North America in mid-November, with a European and Latin American launch following two weeks later. It is due to go on sale in Japan on February 22.

“I am thrilled that so many customers around the globe have continued to select PS4 as the best place to play throughout and beyond the holiday season,” said Andrew House, president and group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment.
