VimpelCom names business development chief

Russian service provider VimpelCom has named Alexander Mazurov as director of product and business development, in charge of launching new products and services and general business development. 

Mazurov was previously senior regional manager for Apple in Russia, charged with developing relationships with operators. He has also worked for MTS has director of sales and marketing for its Far East division.

Mazurov succeeds Viktor Markelov, who has headed business development since 2000.
