CTC Media ups digital focus with transmedia department

Russian broadcaster CTC Media has said it aims to further develop and enhance its presence on the internet and in digital media, establishing a new business unit called its Transmedia Projects Department.

Former NTV presenter Alexey Pivovarov, who was appointed in October as director, television and transmedia projects, will head the department, while chief content officer and the head of CTC Channel, Viacheslav Murugov, will supervise the division.

“Creation of a dedicated department is a logical step towards consolidating the creative expertise of CTC Media and ensuring effective management of transmedia project development. We intend to implement cross-platform projects in all accessible media for maximum involvement and coverage of our audience,” said Murugov.

The Transmedia Projects Department will be responsible for developing and creating transmedia content, promoting and monetising online content, as well as looking after new and partner projects.
