TVN-owned business and international news channel TVN24 Biznes i Świat saw a peak audience of 200,000 viewers for its coverage of the protests in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv and achieved a total all-day audience of as many as 1.34 million in the month since its, launch, according to the Polish broadcaster, citing audience statistic compiled by Nielsen.
‘We still have a long way to go before we consolidate the position we have attained,” said Adam Pieczyński, TVN’s management board member in charge of news and current affairs and editor-in-chief of TVN24 and TVN24 Biznes i Świat.
“We are fully aware that there are things that need to be improved and we are working to bring about changes that will allow Polish viewers to feel they are experiencing real-time coverage of world events. Meanwhile, though, these early figures confirm our underlying perception that the Poles are becoming increasingly interested in international affairs and serve to reassure us that TVN24 Biznes i Świat is a valuable addition to TVN24’s programme schedule.”
