Russian pay TV market sees growth

The Russian pay TV market grew by 3% last year, with the number of digital TV subscribers exceeding analogue users for the first time, according to research by iKS Consulting. 

According to iKS Consulting, the number of digital pay TV users now amounts to 54% of the total.

The research group said that the pay TV market grew in monetary terms by 13% last year to RUB52 billion (€1.1 billion), while pay TV subscribers grew by 9% to reach 33.6 million.

Satellite led the way in driving growth, accounting for two million new subscribers, according to iKS Consulting.
