Tricolor TV to make SuperKino HD available to other operators

Russian pay TV provider Tricolor TV has struck a deal with broadcaster Pervyy HDTV that will enable it to make its SuperKino HD package available to other operators.

Tricolor TV launched SuperKino HD in August as a premium offering priced at RUB1,500 (€33) for three months or RUB5,400 for a full year’s subscription. The service, which marked a change in strategy for an operator that hitherto had been perceived as an exclusively low-cost service, included five channels – KinoPremium HD, Serial HD, Ostrosyuzhetnoye kino HD, Semeynoye HD and Nashe HD – showing Russian and international movies and TV series in HD.

SuperKino HD will be made available to third-party cable and IPTV operators that can meet the broadcaster’s security requirements via a licence agreement.
