German cable operators boost HD line-up

German cable operator Tele Columbus is to add three new public broadcaster HD channels to its line-up on December 5.

The operator is adding MDR HD, RBB HD and HR HD to its roster of channels, taking the total number of ARD and ZDF HD services on offer to 16.

Tele Columbus also offers17 commercial HD channels on its line-up as well as 10 HD channels in its pay TV package and six in its HD lifestyle package.

Separately, German cable operator Primacom is increasing the number of HD channels it offers from 37 to 46 with the addition of up to eight new public broadcaster stations from ARD.
