Satellite operator Eutelsat has announced the winners of this year’s Eutelsat TV Awards at a ceremony in Venice, Italy.
Hungary’s M2 was named as best children’s channel, while Moviemax Festival HD from Turkey took the cinema channel award.
Sky Arte Italy took the best culture/documentaries channel award while the award for best fiction/general entertainment channel went to Chérie 25 from France.
Russia’s Auto Plus took top prize in the lifestyle category, while the music channel prize was shared between Gospel Music TV from the UK and Mezzo Live HD from France.
China’s CCTV News won top prize in the news/information category. Best sport channel award went to LÉquipe 21 from France.
The award for best programme went to Italian public broadcaster Rai’s documentary Mussolini – Il Cadavere Vivente and Eurochannel’s The Eurochannel Short-Films Tour.
The ‘People’s Choice’ award went to the UAE’s PMC.
Two special awards were presented to Sky Group, for consistent innovation over the past 10 years, and Canal 2 Cameroon, for its contribution in driving digital transition.
