Second screen TV app Zeebox has expanded its relationship with video search and recommendation firm Digitalsmiths, incorporating the latter’s ‘seamless discovery’ technology in the UK and Australia.
Zeebox first started using Digitalsmiths’ technology in the US to power elements of its personalised video discovery back in June.
Zeebox users in the UK and Australia will now also be able to use its personalised ‘Recommended For You’ feature and the ‘Similar Shows’ function, which allows viewers to discover related content.
“Scrolling through 150+ TV channels is not the way of the future. Instead, you will use a personalised guide dynamically built for you, featuring shows you already love that are on your TV now and later, shows recommended by friends, shows you can participate in, interact or play along with on your phone or tablet, and shows recommended for you based on your viewing history”, said Anthony Rose, CTO and co-founder of Zeebox.
