Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) has promoted Jill Offman, SVP, Managing Director of Comedy Central UK, to international head of the Comedy Central brand.
In her new job as senior vice president, comedy for VIMN, Offman will remain based in London but will report to US-based president and CEO of VIMN Bob Bakish.
Offman, who retains her old responsibilities in her new role, takes on the expanded remit of overseeing how Comedy Central and its associated brands are positioned and presented in more than 70 countries outside the US – working across advertising sales, communications, creative, digital media and marketing.
She will also continue to oversee Comedy Central’s international content strategy – a role she first took on in March 2012. This is based around an international pipeline of original scripted and non-scripted comedy and entertainment content for VIMN’s portfolio of 17 international comedy channels.
“Comedy Central has enjoyed extraordinary international growth in the last few years, and Jill has contributed significantly to the brand’s success by establishing Comedy Central UK as one of the country’s most consistently popular pay TV services,” said Bakish.
