Du appoints new CFO

UAE service provider du has appointed a replacement for chief finance officer, Mark Shuttleworth, who is set to leave the company early next year.

Amer Kazim will take over the post and is due to join the firm in December. He joins du from Dubai Airport, where he was senior vice president group services for four years, and brings a total of 18 years finance sector experience to the role.

Shuttleworth leaves du after eight years as CFO to “pursue other business opportunities.” He is due to remain at the company until the end of Q1 2014 to ensure a smooth handover.

“On behalf of the board of directors, I would like to thank Mark for the substantial contribution he has made to the company over past eight years. Our successful IPO, subsequent refinancing efforts to support our rapid expansion and the robust operating and financial systems were guided by Mark and his team,” said du chairman Ahmad Bin Byat.

The new hire comes as du said it is entering a new phase of growth, which will see it focus on “strengthening its functional staff foundation” and on senior management efficiency.
