Elion sees TV boost

TeliaSonera-owned Estonian service provider Elion added over 11,000 new customers to its NutiTV offering in the third quarter, a rise of 8% year-on-year, taking the total number of customers for the service to 161,000.

Elion added 5% year-on-year to its broadband base in the same period, taking its total to 220,000. The company’s overall customer base now amounts to about 316,000, the operator said.

Elion estimates it now has a market share of 44.8% in fixed line TV services, and 59% of the fixed internet market.

Elion, which revamped its TV service last week, is continuing to invest in fibre, rolling out up 100Mbps services to a further 6,300 homes in Võru , Valga and Jõhvi in September.
