Fox International Channels has hired Christian Barcellos as its executive VP, lifestyle and reality programming.
In the newly-created role Barcellos will oversee all original development, production and acquisitions in the unscripted space and develop a long term strategy for FIC in the reality and lifestyle category.
He joins from NBCU-owned cable net Bravo where he was VP production and executive producer, winning three Emmys and working on series including Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and the Real Housewives franchise.
Based in New York, Barcellos will start in his new role in November and report directly to Hernan Lopez, FIC president and CEO.
Lopez said: “Around the world, the Fox brand is synonymous with original, breakthrough content in entertainment and sports. Now we want to achieve that status with lifestyle and reality programming. Christian is a creative force who has helped shape the genre in the US.”
Barcellos said: “This is my dream job – working for a visionary company expanding into uncharted territory. It combines the kind of brand building I enjoyed at Bravo and my formative years spent outside the US, that left an indelible imprint on my creative outlook.”
